BC Hydro in Gold River, BC

This article originally appeared in the Times Colonist. Ratepayers in BC can expect dramatic electricity-rate increases for years to come. Those rate increases will be needed to pay off B. Meanwhile, residential ratepayers — who have been cutting back on electricity consumption in recent years — will consume less, yet pay more each month. On a standalone basis, investors would require a higher interest rate when purchasing bonds from a highly leveraged company. Hydro is also banking on future rate increases to support its current net income. The benefit of counting money today, but actually collecting it sometime in the future, is obvious: It makes the company more profitable and avoids the blowback it would receive from current ratepayers who would experience even higher monthly bill increases than they currently see. If residential ratepayers were on the hook for moving B. But even with the ability to kick the rate-increase can down the road, B.

Hey everyone, I’m writing in because I am having a lot of trouble hooking the AUX hydraulics up on my Case 85xt skid steer to operate a snow plow on it. The plow came with the skid steer, and when I first got it I hooked it up to try it out and it worked alright, and it was hard to get the connectors on, but I forced it and I went. On the plow side I can get the female to go into the male on the skid steer, and then I cannot get the male on the plow side to go into the skid steer.

It will go part way, like almost all the way, but then just won’t go in. I moved the pedal back and forth and the H pattern controls around to relieve pressure, but it still doesn’t work. I took a screw driver and pushed in both sides to let a little bit of fluid out incase the pressure was stopping it, but that didn’t help either.

Again, right before I brought this machine to sit onsite I hooked it up and needed to really push it to get it on but it worked fine. Now the snows flying and I put the pusher from the skid on my new tractor so I need this plow on there. I have had the same problem and i converted everything over to stuchhi couplers they are a thread on quick coupler works well when ther is residual pressure which happens in attachments I have been told that a change in temperture will cause pressure build up one way to prevent that is to couple couplers togethor on plow when not being used.

Contact Hot Tub Parts Canada A V spa for North America is the best choice at 60hz because it provides for a faster warming hot tub which can use a V heater instead of a weaker V heater that will take twice as long to heat. For digital control systems, make sure to be aware of a. Spa Electrical Hooking up spa electrical should be left to a professional electrician. There are several things to consider when hooking up a hot tub from proper wire thickness, adherance to any local codes, installation of an emergency disconnect near the spa, proper wiring of a hot tub gfci, installation of the 50 or 60 amp breaker as required depending on type of spa and the actual running of the wiring underground or in the rafters of the basement etc..

The easiest types of spas are the low spec spas that only have a total amount of amperage less than or equal to the dedicated power socket you can have installed for it. In Europe the spas are not V, but in North America they can be either. Europe uses 50hz equipment in the spa, North America uses 60hz pumps and equipment. If the spa is used outdoors in a winter climate with snow, the V spa system will better keep up with heating demands.

A way to squeeze extra wattage out of a single supply line is to set the spa to not heat while pumps are on high speed or heater switches on. This is accomplished usually by changing either a dipswitch on the circuit board or repositioning a jumper on the board. It is best to plan for proper voltage and allow heater to run as it needs to as otherwise this could result in a freezing condition in the winter. Get those hard-to-find spa parts or any hot tub part or accessory you need in Canada from TheHotTubSuperstore.

These “plug and play” type of models usually come with a GFCI – ground fault circuit interruptor or RCD – residual current device installed directly on the plug. Usually the plug and play type of spa do not come with heaters over 2kw and are more appropriate for spas that do not have alot of water volume or are used indoors.

We are pulled over on the side of Highway 37, just north of Bell 2 Lodge, looking up at the biggest power line project that BC Hydro has undertaken in decades. Clearing the right-of-way began in and the project is currently two-thirds finished. Line has yet to be strung between all 1, of the metre-tall poles. Power is slated to start flowing in May Government and industry are heralding the project as opening the mineral-rich northwest to mining and energy extraction.

This calculation fails to consider the huge CO2 emissions from mining companies whose projects cannot go ahead without the NTL. In , the Pembina Institute calculated that just five of the many proposed mines the NTL would power together release , tonnes of CO2 per year—the equivalent of more diesel-powered Iskuts. If the NTL were really about relieving Iskut of diesel, there are other ways to do it.

In order to fast track construction, the province exempted the km Iskut extension from an environmental assessment and a standard BC Utilities Commission review, a process intended to ensure that project costs are in the public interest. From Tatogga Lake, two smaller extensions will take power 18 km east to Red Chris mine, and 16 km north to Iskut.

While powering a home or business is a one-way equation for most, an increasing number of British Columbians are discovering that they can put their building to work for them by generating their own electricity. The program allows you to sell any excess energy you produce back into the grid, offsetting the cost of your energy use. The program, which launched in , now has hundreds of participants around the province who effectively sell their power into the grid.

The meter tracks how much power you draw from the grid, as well as any power you send back into it. When you generate more power than you need, as is often the case in the summer months, when sunshine is abundant and energy use typically decreases, your system will automatically send the excess power generated by your solar panels back to the grid.

BC Hydro will issue a credit to be used against future energy bills. But if you still have the credit a year later, BC Hydro will then pay you for the electricity at a rate of 9. According to BC Hydro, these are some criteria you can use to assess whether your home or business is a good candidate for the net metering program: Do you have a south-facing roof in good repair? Is your roof big enough for the most common size solar installation square feet?
