Can dating scan be 3 weeks wrong way
First trimester ultrasound is performed in the first months of a pregnancy. Pregnancy ultrasounds are performed mainly using transabdominal ultrasound. For many women, especially after 8 weeks gestation, sufficient information about the baby may be obtained with transabdominal ultrasound only. However, in the early pregnancy, the developing embryo is very small at 6 weeks gestation, the baby is only mm long and a transvaginal ultrasound may be required to get a better image of the baby.
Transvaginal ultrasound is safe and commonly performed during all stages of pregnancy, including the first trimester.

Of all of these uses, dating the pregnancy is the most common reason to use ultrasound, particularly when the expectant mother cannot remember the date of her last period as in breast-feeding or irregular cycles.
When an ultrasound is performed, measurements of the head, abdomen, thigh, and amount of amniotic fluid are done. This creates error in that the baby will compute out to be further along than he or she really is. For instance, say you normally have eight and nine pound babies. Then your baby at 37 weeks will have bigger measurements than babies destined to weigh seven or eight pounds at birth. This may then indicate that your week baby is two weeks overdue!
Therefore, measurements taken later on, when babies begin to grow at different rates among pregnancies, yield increasingly inaccurate dating of pregnancy. Although the dating of pregnancy accuracy takes a dive, still ultrasound is indispensable for the other uses. Nevertheless, this measurement is fairly accurate.

Jul 24, · I’ve already had my dating scan. They gave me 9th July but I got told they can be up 2 4 weeks wrong.
The baby is measuring big for dates – femur is above 50th centile, head circumference is on 97th centile and abdominal circumference is also on 97th centile. I am certain of my LMP and the 20 week scan sonographer reckoned the 12 week dating scan which slightly changed my dates would be pretty accurate as she said the 12 week sonographer would have been able to get a good view, given my build. So it’s unlikely that the dates are wrong and the baby is normal size for dates.
Does this mean that the baby is highly likely to be a big baby at birth? My DD was very average size at birth 7lb 6oz and although I am a bit above average height for a woman 5’8″ , I am normal build, and my DH is fairly normal height for a man 5’9″. I am obviously delighted that the baby appears to be completely fine but not relishing the prospect of giving birth to a huge baby! So you never can tell! Original date given was 18 December but at the scan it was moved to 31 Dec. It just doesn’t quite add up by my reckoning of when I think I ovulated and when I know we did the deed! Unless you have an early pregnancy scan most of you will be given your estimated due date at the week scan. Of course you have probably already used an online due date calculator. Well, one of the major things that I think we were wanting to get out of the scan was to discover that there was only one baby, because my husband is a twin and as far as I was aware, there was no history of twins in my family. But it actually turns out that my father’s parents on both sides there had been a history of identical twins, but they had died so we didn’t know about it, because they’d died as babies. I actually was kind of thinking, ‘Oh, well, if it was twins then what you don’t know won’t hurt you’.
And, you know, I’ve never had a baby before so if I had two then I wouldn’t know any different to just having one. My husband, on the other hand, was quite relieved to see there was only one, because he was of the opinion that one would have to be sold because we wouldn’t be able to afford two! So he was quite pleased. Did you know about your family history then, before you went for the scan or did it only come up afterwards when somebody said, ‘Oh, yeah, we’ve got twins too’?
It came up when I found out I was pregnant. Because my husband’s a non-identical twin, so we didn’t think there was much risk of any sort of genetic thing, but the fact that there was identical twins was kind of a bit of a, ‘Oh, right, okay, you might have told me that beforehand. I suppose it was very emotional, actually. It was a lot more emotional than I thought it would be. I mean, I’d heard people saying, ‘Oh, you know, you’re so moved’ and I thought, you know, because I’ve seen it, when people show me scans I’ve thought, ‘I can’t make that out’, and they say, ‘There’s the baby’ and I think, ‘Oh right, okay.
And then, you know, we saw this little thing, which the ultrasound technician couldn’t, it was asleep at the time, so she was poking it and trying to get it to move, which it eventually did, poor little thing. So, but yes it was really quite a moving experience.

At the same time, I have to admit that I have not dated Israeli girls, I have only dated Jewish girls living in the Diaspora i. I DO have a bunch of Israeli friends though both guys and girls , and so I have a very good idea of what they are like. Israeli girls are more direct and straightforward than other Jewish girls and maybe a little more mature and grounded. Other Jewish girls may hide what they are thinking a bit more.
My advice and tips below apply to both Israeli girls and non-Israeli Jewish girls. If you live outside Israel you have to search a lot more as Jews are obviously much less common.

Share this article Share Their damning internal review found clear warning signs that Miss Harker’s condition was deteriorating were missed. After the inquest, trust chief executive Stephen Eames said: The care home worker, who lived with her fiance, died at the city hospital on March 6th last year, six days after she first took ill. Mr Powley said she occasionally suffered from stomach pains but had previously battled with eating disorders and they thought it was linked to that.
But she first fell seriously ill on Wednesday, March 1 , when she was sent home from work with stomach pains. She was told it could be a bug and sent home. However, he said she later started vomiting and was up all night with the pain. The next day they called her local GP, in her home town of Wigton, Cumbria, who agreed it could be a bug, but admitted her to hospital for tests and monitoring. She was admitted to a ward overnight, but was again sent home the next morning with anti-sickness medication.
By that evening she was again in extreme pain, so Mr Powley and her mother Valerie took the decision to phone for an ambulance. As it took so long in the end they drove her in – only for staff to mistake her pain for gastroenteritis. At midnight she was transferred to a different ward and and the duty registrar said they would carry out a CT scan the following day. Her fiance, Mr Powley pictured , told the inquest how she spent her final few days in agony, having initially been told it was a bug and sent home from hospital twice She was first sent home from the Cumberland Infirmary in Carlisle pictured after being told her pain was merely a stomach bug However, the next day – March 4 – he rang the ward, only to be told for some unknown reason there would be no scan after all.
Mr Powley, and Miss Harker’s mother visited her a few hours later only to find her in a single-bed cubicle covered in vomit.
